Tapas Tuesday

16 Mar

Continuing on my process of eating crow in the green chile department, we sampled a breakfast burrito phrom The Pantry.  Unphreakingbelievably delicious.  Yes, that is a word- because if you see it on the internet, it has to be true.

We went for an early dinner at La Boca, an awesome tapas spot down the street from Il Piatto.  I let my phella do the ordering, knowing there was no way he could steer me wrong.

We happened to be there for Tapas Tuesday which is an awesome deal- I think our three plates were $25 total.  We started with the avocado & sheep’s milk feta drizzled in unbelievable olive oil and accompanied with roasted red pepper and pickled onion.

Next was the Ensalada de Pulpo, also pheaturing amazing olive oil, phresh parsley and smoky paprika.

Phinally, the tempranillo braised short rib crostini topped with phried quail eggs.  I’d never had a quail egg before… not only are they adorable, but they’re amazingly phlavorful.  If it didn’t pose such a logistical challenge, I might very well decide to only eat quail eggs for the rest of my life.

All the dishes were so superb, it seemed illegal to neglect dessert.  We opted for a blood orange and pomegranate tart that was shockingly tart yet sweet and also creamy most accurately described as the most delicious adult Push Up known to man.

Did you know that Nestle’s Push Up celebrated its 50th anniversary last year?  Well now you do…
